Konzert: THE TAZERS + YAMA
RSA, Stoner Rock
Yama is a heavy outfit hailing from Tilburg and Utrecht. They combine stoner, doom and post-rock riffs with pounding rhythm and raw edged vocals. The band warrants atmospheric jams, but with an eye for concise song writing.

Yama released the Seaquake EP in 2011 (Mindflare Media), followed by the full-length album Ananta in 2014 (Lighttown Fidelity). In the 2010s the stage was shared with notable acts like Uncle Acid and the Deadbeats, Graveyard, St Vitus, and Orange Goblin. Perhaps you also caught one of their shows at renowned festivals like Roadburn (NL), Freak Valley (GER), Into the Void (NL), Yellowstock (BE), or Pietra Sonica (IT).

After a hiatus of 6 years, 2024 marks the return of the band. They undertook a Dutch-Belgian reunion tour (2024) and plan for a Spring tour in Germany and Belgium (May 2025).

Early 2025 will also bring the release of the split album ‘Tempus Deorum’ with L’ira del Baccano (Subsound Records).

Hailed as a South African psych-rock band, The Tazers has its roots stuck in the ‘70s while incorporating modern sounds and structures. This trio pack a high-energy performance that captivates their audience with fuzz tones, vocal harmonies and powerful drum rolls. The Tazers know how to entertain.

“An old-school sound with a modern day mentality.” - Between 10 and 5.

"These local wizards of retro and reverb delivering once more on authentic rock with a vintage feel.” - Texx and the City“Immerse yourselves into the reverb-soaked guitars and psychedelic themes that make the South African band undeniably great.” - Grunge Cake

The current trio consists of Jethro Lock (guitar, vocals), Timothy Edwards (drums, vocals) and Werner Jordaan (bass, vocals).

The Tazers have been extremely active since their inception in 2015. They’ve released 4 EP’s and a full length album, which has led them to become one of South Africa's leading psych-rock bands. They’ve played all the biggest music festivals and venues SA has to offer, and they always leave the crowd wanting more. More recently in 2023, The Tazers performed in Germany at the iconic Rockpalast during Crossroads Festival, where they appeared live on German TV.

The Tazers were also nominated for ‘Best Rock Album’ at the 2020 South African Music Awards (SAMAs) and received multiple film accolades & nominations for their music video ‘Plastic Kids’. Recently, they have been growing their fan base around the world - reaching a huge milestone of 50 000 monthly listeners on Spotify. Alongside this, many of their songs have reached over 1 million streams on the platform.

One of their latest singles, ‘Outer Space’ has had airplay all over the world, most notably from major public radio stations FM4 in Austria and Radio Fritz in Germany. Their latest music video ‘Ready To Die’ was also featured on MTV Germany. The band has also recently completed their 3rd European Tour, which saw them performing in Germany, Switzerland, Austria, France and Netherlands to high acclaim. Although this three-piece fuzz band has accomplished a lot over the years, the truth is… The Tazers have only just begun.
